The Yard, and Paddocks
Wimborne
Approx. 2.5 acres
The Background
This unique site began life as a World War II fuel storage depot, later repurposed as a woodyard and general storage area. With a history of informal use, mixed materials, and ageing hardstanding, it was deemed subservient to the local farmers’ needs. While the land retained good access and potential for small-scale commercial or amenity use, lack of services, and complex planning status made conventional development
unviable.
Our Approach
Apex Land Management was instructed to review and structure the most efficient route to
liability release and value recovery.
Historic Use Review & Boundary Mapping: Verified title boundaries and historical
usage through mapping archives and confirmed the site’s former military use.Marketing & Disposal Strategy: Identified the asset as best suited to open-market
disposal via public auction.Presentation & Sale: Marketed the site under the title “The Yard, Uddens Drive,”
highlighting access and sold the adjoining land separately to budding environmentalists.
The Outcome
This project demonstrates Apex Land Management’s expertise in strategic disposal of non-core and legacy assets, combining historical insight, risk mitigation, and targeted marketing.
• Historic military asset sold via auction
• Sold adjoining Land to budding environmentalists via a strategic partner.
